Have you ever thought about just hooking up the caravan and hitting the road? Well there’s no time like the present. We sat down with mum of two, Marissa Bowden about her adventures in her Jayco Journey Outback.
Marissa, co-founder of The Village Markets and owner of Sun House Studio really enjoys her time away with the family. Her favourite place to visit isn’t far from her home on the Gold Coast but she keeps going back time and time again.
“We adore Clarkes Caravan Park in Byron Bay, you will not find a better location and it’s a sentimental fav as my parents had their honeymoon there 45 years ago, so we grew up going there. It has changed a lot obviously but we love it. We also love Rainbow Beach for fun family adventures.”
The family love to cook when away with their favourite Jayco Caravan add-on, the Outdoor Kitchen. They find the convenience of the bathroom a handy addition too.
“We love the outdoor slide-out kitchen for dining alfresco and the bathroom is definitely handy at night!
Curries are our go to, they are super easy and not many ingredients are required. We like to cook outside using our slide-out kitchen where possible,” she said.
The Bowden’s on the road in Tasmania with their Jayco Journey Outback Caravan The Bowden’s enjoying the comforts of camping Bowden’s campfire stove.
When asked what holiday essentials she couldn’t live without.
“We love our camp chairs and fold-out table and of course surfboards! I am big on ambience so I always bring incense, cards – and a good playlist too!”
One of the trickiest things when travelling is deciding what to pack. Marissa shares with us her advice on the best way to pack your caravan.
“Still working on this one! I am by no means an organised person but I am definitely learning to pack less, so it’s not so cluttered. Small spaces mean you do not want clutter. You will literally wear the same things over and over again, so less is best! And always put nice linen on your bed, so it feels a little more luxurious – life is busy, you deserve to relax!”
The Jayco Journey Outback is perfect for a family of four. With a double bed and a single bunk bed it will sleep the family comfortably and is perfect for off-road adventures with 200W Solar System, JTECH independent suspension including Pedders off-road shocks absorbers and coil springs specifically made for the Jayco Journey Outback.
